CONSULT WITH YOUR PRIMARY PHYSICIAN
Your nurse will meet you in the recovery room post surgery after consulting with your physician. This provides an extra layer of comfort and peace of mind knowing you will receive the right professional, medical care at home. Your nurse will be advised of any complications to be aware of and have the skills and supplies necessary to remedy any issue that may arise.
TRANSPORTATION
Perhaps you don't want to burden or inconvenience a loved one, or perhaps you're alone and don't have the necessary support to rely on. Your nurse can transport you from the hospital to your home if you need or prefer it.
OVERNIGHT CARE
Your certified nurse will monitor and take care of you from that moment until the next morning between 9am-11am.
CARE-TAKING PLUS PROFESSIONAL OPINION
Your nurse will set out your medications (usually prescribed for pain or nausea), prep your meals, help you dress or use the restroom, verify that everything looks right, and monitor vital signs to ensure a smooth, safe recovery.
NECESSARY SUPPLIES
A huge advantage to hiring a post-op nurse is the supplies your nurse will be equipped with. Bandages, EKG machine, blood and glucose machine, blood pressure cups, thermometer, oxygen saturation, etc.
DAY ONE EVENING POST-OP VISIT
After monitoring and taking care of you overnight until 9-11am the next morning, your RN will return that evening, day 1 after post-op, to ensure you know how to take care of your drains, etc.
